Last post: English Language Challenges

What's up guys! Today's post is the last one and I'm going to talk to you about English Language challenges and how difficult it's for me to speak and write in english. I have to say that in school I was not a very diligent student, specially in english, because I didn't like to remember the grammar rules, the verbs, and all that stuff, I preferred experiencing the English Language in a practical way, like watching movies or reading books and magazines that I liked, and that I previously read and watch, so I can associate the words between english and spanish.
Doing blogs is a very useful way to improve your english, it helped me to create new ideas and keep more or less a logic in the text that I writing, it helps me a lot to write in english.
Resultado de imagen de english languageThe most important aspect that I need to improve is the speaking part, I am not good when I have to speak with somebody in english, I find it difficult, and the only way to improve this part is speaking more in english, easy.
Outside the english class I don't use the english in my daily life, sometimes, I speak with a friend of mine that lives in the United States, it is a great exercise and I have a great assistance, she corrects me when I write something wrong, or helps me with my pronunciation, and that means a lot.
I think that I've really improved my english in the English 4 course, because the teacher speaks very well, that helps you to find the right words or just to pronounce relatively well the words that I found more difficult.

The changes that I would do in my Career

Resultado de imagen para estresHi everyone, today's post is about some changes that I would do in my actual career that is Dentistry. All the peoplethink that Dentistry is a very easy carrer and they are wrong, is the most difficult carrer in the university (at least at the University of Chile). One thing that I would change in the study program is the workload and length of the studies, for example, the subject of "Anatomical and Biological bases of Head and Neck" requires a lot of study, something that I agree completely, but sometimes in the exams the teachers exaggerate in evaluating. This subject gives me a lot of stress, I have to study a lot to only reach the 4.0, and I have to stop to doing other things only to study this damn subject, leaving the study of the others subjects too. I think the teachers think that their subject is the most important, so they do whatever they want. I think that a good formation is necessary to create good professionals, and according to the mark that left the graduates of this university in the country, we could not stay behind it, but they go beyond that I guess.

Other thing that I would change is the Pre-clinic facilities, they are very obsolete and due the high price of this career, it is necessary to have an equally relation between price and quality of this service. The first year the theory is wide and only focused on that; the next years become more clinical and you have to practice the theory.

My favorite Band

Resultado de imagenHello, what's up everyone, today's post is about my favorite band: Tame Impala. The Australian group began in 2007 and are composed by Kevin Parker, vocals and guitar; Jay Watson, synth and backing vocals; Dominic Simper, guitar and synth; Cam Avery, bass and backing vocals, and Julien Barbagallo, drums and backing vocals. It belongs to the psychedelic rock scene, and they are a reference to other artists in this style of music.
Resultado de imagen para tame impalaI like the band because they combine very well the sounds from different instruments to create a great atmosphere in your ears (I listen to their music by earphones or headphones, connected to my phone), specially when you are trying to have a nice moment in your bed, when I'd like to have a little bit of energy to do the homework or do anything I have to do in the day, I put my earphones on, connect them to my phone, and generally select "Apocalypse Dreams", it has a great rythm and really works for me.
Other thing that i like from the band is that they have from sort of classic rock, to a "High Fidelity Psychedelic Electro", so when you listen one of their albums, you have a lot of options, depending what you'd like to do or depending on your state of mind, they are, in my personal opinion, a complete kind of music.

They were in Chile about a year ago, but I can't go, so if they come again, I will go to that concert!

Summer Holidays

Resultado de imagen para caburgua
What's up everyone, today's post is about Summer Holidays. This year would be a little different form others, because my little brother finished the high school, so we should register in the university before vacation, as soon as we finish this procedure, we can go to the south of Chile, specifically, Pucon, that is located in the Ninth Region. I have planned to go away with my brother and some friends, and just chill out during the trip, anyways, everywhere we go, there is a lot of fun togheter. The last year, the same group traveled to Pucon, so we like to repeat the experience, in the same place, a hostel in the center of the city, to share with other people. We would do a lot of things, like swim in the lake, go to parties in the city, walk across the city, go to the mountains near the city, etc.

Near the zone of Pucon, is Caburgua, a little place to pitch a tent, and have a quiet moment in the lakeshore. Maybe we would go to the Villarica volcano, and spend the afternoon enjoying the landscape on the peak.
During the trip, we will cook, so anything can happen, the most important thing is that the food we cook is able to eat and we do not get sick doing it, and that has an acceptable flavor.

SDLE

Here a photo of Leo, my parse, and  me, during SDLE
Hi everyone, today's post is about SDLE, but, what is SDLE? SDLE is the acronym of "Semana De La Escuela". First of all, our university has many years since it was founded, so a lot of stories can be told about its faculties. The Dentistry Faculty has one hundred and five years of history, and every year we celebrate during the week that contains the great day of  its foundation. On this week, a lot of activities are perfomed, and almost everything "has" to be done to get some points, to win the first place and all the honor that involves. Many things happen during this week, but all that happen in  SDLE, stays in SDLE.
Personally, I think that SDLE is a great opportunity to hang out with friends and have a good time enjoying the acitivities, and drinking a little bit of alcohol, just to share with your friends (not to get drunk). But, how to survive SDLE? Just control yourself, keep your dignity and do not attemp something that you will regret of later. In my case, I think I survived SDLE just following that basic principles, and keeping in mind that SDLE is only one week, in a year of hundred of weeks, so, is better to keep calm and just enjoy the landscape. Other important thing is the homework that you have to do, is better to finish it before the SDLE, because the hangover can difficult the optimum performance the weeks after it.
So guys, if you are thinking of having a great week, follow these steps and enjoy!

Postgraduate Studies

Hi everyone, today's post is about a postgraduate course that I like to taking in the future. So far i didn't consider the idea of having a posgraduate study, but, thinking about it i would like to take Maxillofacial Surgery or Periodontics, which are specialities of Dentistry. I would like to study something related to the clinic practice, not the theory, maybe take this courses in the University of Chile, but I would like to go study in other country, learn other techniques and ways to perform the same job but more, efficiently?. If I take a postgraduate course, i would take it full time, only studying and concentrating all my effort in that, not working and studying, maybe save some money to do it. Anyways, the first thing to take a postgraduate course is finish the graduate course. After that, you have to work in general dentistry some years, to earn some experience from the fieldwork, learn to treat the pacient in the right way, all the procedures to have a good performance in your place of work.
I think the most important thing of have a postgraduate study is the money, there is some scholarships to pay the university fee, but, I'm thinking to save some money to take a postgraduate course, I guess is the most comfortable way for me to do it.

The kind of job that i would like to have: Tour Guide

Resultado de imagen para mountain tourismI'm studying dentistry right now, i'm very happy doing it, but the job that I would like to have is something very different from removing caries and working with teeth. I imagine my ideal job like something that allows me to live only with the necessary things (food, water, a place to live and sleep) and some money to spend travelling or buying clothes, the money isn't my priority in my "ideal" job. I would like to work outdoors, watching the landscape, sort of a tour guide but not in the city, the mountain is my ideal place to work. I really like the mountain, I can see all around me from the top, and I would like to guide other people to see that, it is a very pleasant feeling.
Resultado de imagen para TOUR GUIDEI would like to travel a lot in this job, changing view almost everyday and travelling to other countries to learn different aspects of the mountain's tourism, maybe stay working in other countries. I would like to have a salary only to live with the basic things but at the same time in a confortable way, not a lot of money, I think that is completely unnecessary, you can have an excelent life with less. I think that is my idea of a perfect job, a thing that allows you to live with the right things, comfortable, happy but not with a lot of money, but  unfortunately nowadays I cannot do that.

My hobbies

Resultado de imagen para musical instruments
Hi there! Today I'm going to talk about my hobbies
Since I was a little kid, i started to play music; first, I learned to play flute in the school, few years later I joined to a guitar course for two years, and finally i started to learn to play the piano. I really like to play the musical instruments, sometimes i play them for hours, I can't notice how time goes by, I just follow the music, it makes me feel nice, playing music gives me a little moment of relaxation. If i'm not playing an instrument, I'm listening to music, I really like that, to sit down, put on my headphones and listen. Everyday I walk with music, it gives me energy.

Other thing that I really like doing is swimming. I spend a lot of my time in the
pool, at least 3 days a week. It would sound ridiculous, but sometimes I watch Michael Phelps's videos, it is an inspiration before I'm going to swim. I enjoy being in the water, it's an entertaining activity and it helps me to eat a lot, and not have the associated problems of that.

A few months ago, I started to watch the first season of a Tv series called "Mr.Robot", I finished it, but I couldn't start the second season, I have not enough time to do it.

A country i'd like to visit: Nepal

A country i'd like to visit is Nepal, Why do i choose this? I'd like to have in a near future a introspection trip, to grow like a person, and have a meditation time far from the stress of the city and the life that i'm living right now, just thinking about the spirit and the natural elements, how we can connect with what is surrounding us, learn the teachings of the Hinduism. Buda (Siddhharta Gautama) was born in Nepal, so the Hinduism culture is something every habitant know. Also i'd like to visit the Himalaya, i like the mountain, the snow, be outside and contemplate the landscape; meet the Sherpas, local people who dedicate their lives to climb the mountains, they know their land very well, and they're been prepared from generations ago.
Resultado de imagen para sherpasI'd like to live like them for a few weeks, see their customs, it is so much different from ours, why they live like this? I'd like to answer this question and many others visiting them.

The best concert ever: Los Tetas at Caupolican

The concert take place in December, the last year in the Caupolican, which is a popular theatre in Santiago. I saw "Los Tetas" there; is a funk band from Chile, they are playing funky music since 1994; after a separation in 2004, they joined again in 2011. I clearly remember the atmosphere during the concert:  the people was dancing to the rhythm, the soft lights helped to maintain a nice movement between the crowd, also, there was not so much people, so i had my own piece of the dance floor; i could dance and sing all the songs; i know the lyrics of all this songs and i hace all of their albums, i could jump when the rhythm speed up and  change into a powerful rock riff. I remember the naturally fragranced and dense fog over the stage, it smells like a plant or something like that, i cannot remember the exact smell. I could share this experience with my brother, so the moment was more exciting and epic.

Monday Blogs: My experience about it

Since i joined to the english class, i started to write blogs all weeks, about different subjects like the places i would like to visit or my favorite music, etc. I think about this experience in general that is a great way to improve your english in varied aspects of the life, because you have to write your thoughts in the foreign language. I enjoyed so much doing it, i feel that i developed a little bit my skills in english, at least the basic tools to keep a conversation in this language, and express what i feel and my opinions with other people around the world.
All the subjects that i write about were good, i would like to include in the future more feedback with the teacher in relation to the grammar, because i think that is an important aspect of speak and write english, and if you do it wrong you couldn't communicate properly with other people. Other important aspect of the blogs is that you can read other posts and comment it, so you can interact with the classmates and with the teacher, making possible the communication between the people. I would like to write about the experience so far in the university.

I enjoy studying "Destrezas"

The University is very hard when you cannot organize your time to do all the things that you have to, and the others that you LIKE to do: sports, hang out with friends, etc. I have subjects that i hate, like chemistry (but i have to studying it), and other that i enjoy to study when i have to, or just to learn about my future profession: "Destrezas".

This subject is about different thing that you have to know if you are a dentistry, (and it is a subject focused in the future career), like oral cavity anatomy, tooth care, a little bit of public health, the inputs that you will use, and other logic things. I enjoy studying it because you can know about the things that you will use almost all your life and it prepares you to use that. Maybe the other subjects allows you to know important things too; if you don't know anatomy, you will damage your patient or if you don't know physics you will not do a properly repair the jaw from your patient; i mean all the subjects are fundamental to the exercise of the profession, but "Destrezas" take you closer to what you relly will be your profession.

Best Places to visit in the south of Chile: Malalcahuello

Lonquimay volcano
The south of chile is one of my favorite places to visit during the holidays, specially the ninth region (because is the place where i'm living) because is the most beautiful places due his wild life and millenary trees. I have the oportunity of visit this place and, trust me, it's a amazing experience.
Located in the ninth region is Malalcahuello, a small town that welcome hundreds of people in the winter and summer season, and is known because fifteen kilometers to the north is the Lonquimay

volcano, an active one, and you can climb to the peak of the volcano. In the winter, all the ground get covered with snow, and the place turns to white. You can practice all kind of winter sports or just have some fun in the snow with family and friends. Other thing you can do in the park, which is named National Park Conguillio, is walk around the trails and see all the wild life that live there. In the night you can visit the hot springs and have a relaxing time with your partners while the snow is falling outside, with some snacks and drinks.

Career related website: U-Cursos

One thing that you had to check all day when you study in the University of Chile is U-Cursos. Is a website when all the academic stuff is: marks, exam information, study material, etc. Also it's the website you use when you have to talk to a teacher. I visit U-Cursos almost everyday, when i have to study for an exam, i visit U-Cursos to know the items that you have to know for the exam. You can personalize it, choosing the stuff that you like to see everytime that you visit; there is a feature called "Comunidades", there is publicated all the news and non-academic things like music events or discussions. Also has a forum that allows you to interact with students from other faculties and share whit them all kind of stuff, even sell and buy things you don't use anymore. I have to say that i don't like U-Cursos because it reminds me that i don't have much time to spend doing other things like go to cinema or to a concert. Whatever, the link is www.u-cursos.cl

My favorite Music

Since i was a little kid, my parents induced me to listen music, or at least listen the music that they liked. When i was a teenager i started to listen the music that i like and did some research about some bands or music genres that i listen in the radio or in other media. Few years ago, walking down the street, suddenly a whisper entered to my ears, it was a warm melody, i felt like i was dancing in that moment, that music is named Funk. Searching in internet some bands i found: Parliament Funkadelic; Earth, Wind and Fire, etc, but a band that called my attention was a national band that is called Los Tetas. Their sound is the best i've ever heard in a band of that style, they combine the perfect sounds to create the right melody, to chill out a few minutes. The song that i most like from they is "Ven a Bailar" from the album called "Independiente".

My favorite picture

My favorite picture was taken by a friend after the new year party, the first day of january, in my hometown: Angol. It shows me and my brother sitting in the grass, resting after the night's party. First of all, with my brother (and some friends) share so many experiences to tell you in this post; we spend a lot of time together doing stupid and funny things or just hanging out in my house, so i'm goign to tell you just a little bit of what happen that day. I like this photo because that day we did a lot of things, especially in the afternoon and night. My family and friends represent an important part of my life, so have the chance to share with them important things give me a lot of happiness. That day we dance all night long so the day after we were very tired.

My experience at "Mechoneo"

The days before the "mechoneo" i felt very scared, because i saw a pictures with people doing very sick things, like kissing a pig's head or crawling on garbage. I always carried with me an extra outfit, in case that the "mechoneo" was that day. I was "Peron"
Juan Domingo PerĂ³n
I was in the classroom, suddenly the door opened and masked people came in with a bottle with putrid material inside. Some of this people was cutting the clothes and the rest was painting the body of the rookies. When all the "mechones" was covered in poop, we started to ask for money in the streets along the day.
When i finished the day, i give three thousand pesos to the student center. With a hose and cold water i washed my body and put on the replacement clothes. That day was a great day for me, something that definitely i will remember all my life.

My favorite gadget

Since i was a kid, i like the technology, specially that help me with the daily tasks, like a diary that reminds me what to do along the day or give me an alarm to wake up in the morning, the most important thing about this gadget is that it makes my life so much easier, i have not to be concerned about this little things, just live my day and worry about the important. So, the gadget that is my favorite is the cell phone. This small device have a huge set of application and other tools that are very useful to me. I use the cell phone everyday,

and the last device i acquired two years ago, and doesn't bring me any problem. I like because it have the right size and it is portable. If i lose it, i would probably purchase another one, but my life without the cell phone could it be very difficult.

Why did i choose Odonthology?

When i was a little boy, i like the biology and i want to understand how the human body works, so the career that will prepare me to do that was medicine. Throughout the years, i studied so much to fulfill the dream. The day when i was doing the "PSU" i was sure that my dream become true finally, but the day when i got the results, i feel like "Oh sh...t, why?
This is a mistake". Reading the page of the University of Chile, i saw the Bachelor Program, an alternative for those who could not enter, i decided to enter. In bachelor, as long as i pass trough the course, i realized that maybe i should have other options that allows me to help people with their health problems. Suddenly, i had a thought about odonthology and the impact of these people in the life of their pacients. They fix the teeth problems and give to their pacients more self-esteem: they can smile firmly again. Then i decided to study odonthology in the University of Chile, and i am sure that is the best choice that i made in my whole life.

The story of my life

Hello parseros, I`m Gustavo Saenz and i`m going to tell you a little bit about my personal life. I was born in Iquique in 1997. Few weeks later, i moved to Santiago, there i stay for four o three years,
Iquique
when i finally moved to Angol, a small town in the south of Chile. I don`t like Angol, because is so small and you have to go to other cities to buy the stuff that you need, but the people is very nice.
I studied in the San Francisco Highschool, which is located in Angol, a comfortable place when you have to sleep during the morning.

Piedra del Aguila located in Angol

My family is the best in the world, i love him and miss him when i`m not there. We are very close each other. I have a little brother named Daniel (He has eighteen years old) and a little sister named Laura (She has eleven years old)

Other things about me is i like so much to play guitar and piano, it fill my heart with                                                                                                peace.

Be in the mountain is the best feeling in the world, when the snow touch your skin and it feels cold for a second, it brings me so much memories with my family during the winter holidays.
Volcan lonquimay <3

The last year i was in the Bachelor in the University of Chile, but i decide to change to Odonthology because i get tired of the class and i like the teeth.

Well, i hope my little story touch your heart. Peace!
